We’ve been UFOing it up!
We have been on the look out for UFO’s this week. This week we were given a project called UFO which stand for Understanding the Faiths of Others. We were spilt into 2 teams Boys verses the Girls. We had to use our initiative to find out different facts and information about the different faiths. We went out an about into the different parts of the community within Plymouth and studied different faiths. The fatih’s we had to study were: Us girls had Jehovah Witnesses & Buddhism. The stickers on Matt’s face is the Coffee cup stickers from the McDonalds Coffee cups. Q: Who goes into McDonalds at 8am on a Friday morning to have a drink and play UNO? A: SWEATIES do! We had so much fun playing UNO in the middle of McDonald’s and having people looking at us and not quite understanding us and what we were doing there. This week we have been really busy! Sooo term two is well under way and I’m enjoying the challenges we are facing up to. This week we prepared lesson plans to do some R.E. lessons and on Tuesday the team went to a local secondary school for the morning. We had the opportunity to run four lessons for two groups of year nines, one group of year eights and one group of year of elevens. During the preparation I was quite nervous and didn’t really know what to expect. Hello blog readers, my first blog since Christmas is super exciting!! Amongst our gloriously fun SWEAT routine activities we have been studying extra hard to send off our SATS assignments and do our first exam. We managed to sneek in enough revision before the exam to feel confident. Praise God! We all passed the exam with distinction! We have also learnt a couple of dances which we will be taking around schools one on Tuesday – check it out below! On the 31st of March 2010 South West Equipping and training were invited by Mrs Ley to speak to two classes of top and bottom set year 10 Religious Studies. With a focus on character development we offer a one year accredited course for people over 18 who want to further develop their leadership skills.
