First week in the SWEAT house
OK, so, the first blog post I have ever done. Here goes; this week has had its relaxing and busy days AND what lovely weather we’ve had this week. Everyone has all had their own highlight with this week and whatever highlight comes up, we agree with every one of them. Hello blog readers! The last blog telling you the tough times of LTS -well it ended in a lot of fun! We did the traditional end of LTS banquet with a Western theme (not at all influenced by Ben). All eight students were split into three teams; either cooking, decor or entertainment. Each team had a leader, further opportunity to test our leadership skills and (probably harder) our submission skills!. The Sweaties have a reputation for creativity and fun and they didn’t disappoint as they kicked off the year with an under the sea themed dinner. Each member of the house dressed up in a costume to represent the theme; from a confused mermaid to a symbolic wave consisting of a blue bed sheet. You could clearly see that a lot of thought had been put into the costumes, with all sorts of household objects being used to accessorize them such as fishy bath mats and shells from the garden. …And Cooking Team So the first Term has started and that means that there are 16 hungry mouths to feed! The first leader of the cooking team was Mr Jamie Doggett and his assistant Sammy, they kicked us off to a flying start providing quality cuisine and plenty of it. During the summer SWEAT purchased its second property for the training centre. The other half of the semi detached house was purchased and the joining dinning room wall was knocked through this month (October 2010). This now means that SWEAT is based at 31 and 33 Billacombe Road and this year is housing 17 people, so as you can see from the picture meal times has a great atmosphere.
