Over the weekend we had a few guests staying with us. Claire Doggett and Holly’s parents
On Friday some of the SWEAT guys and Claire got a chance to go to Plymouth Albion Rugby Club to sell programs and to watch the match which was fun.
We also got set an assignment based on the weeks teaching from The Bait of Satan where we had been learning about not taking offense.
Saturday the guys had our first chance to go to the Living Well men’s breakfast which was a laugh but we also got the chance to hear about what God’s been doing in some of the guys’ lives.
Monday we started reading a brilliant but challenging book called The Heavenly Man which is a true story about a man from China who experienced some amazing miracles and a really close friendship with God but also went through some intense torture because of his faith.
From Tuesday we’ve had a lovely couple called Michelle and Alan staying with us and taking us through the Ellel Truth and Freedom course which has been really interesting.
On Thursday at lunch we wrote on bananas. My favourite message was ‘so not relaxing’ which is a phrase from orientation that our friend Christian came up with. As we know by now SWEAT is not supposed to be relaxing and this week hasn’t been but there have been fun times and we’re ‘growing’
Thursday evening was Ben’s Mexican birthday party where we all dressed up, ate Mexican food (and birthday cake) and watched Nacho Libre.
A brilliant end to the week and all the men are looking forward to Dad’s and Lads weekend while the ladies enjoy a quiet weekend without us.

South West Equipping and Training (SWEAT) is a Christian run leadership training school based in Plymouth. With a focus on character development we offer a one year accredited course for people over 18 who want to further develop their leadership skills. Our heart is to bring people to the South West to train and for them to return to their places of work, churches and families as strong leaders with solid characters.
