Once upon a time in the SWEAT house Travis and Alex decided that it would be a really good idea to go to the Isle of Wight on a mission to bring kingdom to the places known as Catalyst youth club and Roots kids club on the island.
Catal
yst is a youth event run by Youth for Christ. Catalyst is a worship event for people ages 13-18 years old, its been running for over 10 years, and it is on once a month on a friday night.
Roots is a kids club for ages 8-12, they run a club every week on thursday.

On the first day of arrival which was Friday 24th Feb, in the evening we went down to Catalyst to serve by leading the Worship (which was lead by Travis Collins), and sharing a message on Understanding what it means to walk as a Son or Daughter, (which was shared by Alex Cooper). Catalyst was great fun getting know the local young people and seeing how God is moving in the area, its great to see young people with such life in them.
On the Saturday we went to Roots kids club and ran the club from 10:00-4:30 where we played all sorts of games including duck duck moose with a moose hat, the kids learned how to street dance and learned a drama with the message that we should value other people, we ate lots of ice cream out of a gutter and finished off by giving out prizes to all the kids at the end of the day.
This was the first mission the SWEATies have been on, i look forward for the next mission and growing in new areas as a team so that we can go out to reflect and represent.
Thank you for reading this week’s blog

South West Equipping and Training (SWEAT) is a Christian run leadership training school based in Plymouth. With a focus on character development we offer a one year accredited course for people over 18 who want to further develop their leadership skills.
