Life and Christianity have a practical outworking, and it is important that theory be constantly related to real life application. This model is implemented throughout the year.


 

FIRST TERM EQUIPPING:
Personal wholeness & Biblical foundations

Key highlights include: 

Orientation

Two week course of building team, unity and group dynamics in Cornwall. The student gets to know themselves, fellow students and leaders. These two weeks set the foundation and tone for the year ahead. 

The Amazing Race

One week course of team work, problem solving, competition and leadership as well as loads of fun!

Group assignment

One week course of team work, handling pressure, planning, organisation, time management, communication and presentation.

Youth work

Living Well Church has a vibrant and growing youth ministry.  An opportunity to work alongside youth leaders in leading youth every Friday through the remainder of the year.

D&D's (Dignities & Delights)

Experience working in small teams with delegated responsibility and learning valuable life skills.

Church life

We are fully integrated into Living Well Church and students get the opportunity to serve the body and be a part of cell life. This continues throughout the year.

 


 
 

SECOND TERM EQUIPPING:
Preparing you to take the message into the local community

Key highlights include: 

Explorers Kids Club

Our annual Explorers Kids Club runs every February half term, the students will lead, plan, organise and run this project from start to finish. This provides valuable experience working with the community, raising funds for their missions, teamwork and working with children.

'Illuminate’ multimedia entertainment event

This dynamic community event is a Living Well Church highlight in the annual calendar. Over the years it has built a reputation of excellence in Plymouth and proving that the church can be relevant! Students once again will work with the local community and run this event from start to finish – a truly once in a lifetime opportunity.

Schools work

Exposure working into local schools. These short missions involve putting together creative workshops and working in teams.

Worship practice

The worship team at Living Well Church meets to encourage and train one another and explore the creativity that God has placed inside us.

Dance & Drama

Helping the students to deliver the message in new and creative ways and to develop self confidence

Preaching & Public Speaking

Developing confidence in public speaking alongside preparing and delivering a preach.

Building project

Learning how to impact the community in a practical way. Skills learnt form part of mission’s preparation.

 


 

THIRD TERM EQUIPPING:
Serving and leading in the wider community

Key highlights include: 

Poverty week

Understanding and dealing with poverty.

Face your fears

Understanding and dealing with fear.

Cell leadership training

Opportunity to lead small group sessions.

Leading worship

Opportunity to lead worship within Living Well Church and out and about.

Community outreach

Working with those less fortunate and the marginalised

Schools work

Exposure in leading work into local schools. These short missions involve putting together creative workshops and working in teams.

Kingdom business

Experience the marketplace outworked using Kingdom principles.

National community

Helping to execute a local community event outside of the South West. 

Major mission

Three weeks of UK and /or international missions. The student gets the opportunity to minister to a wide range of the community. The leadership skills acquired during the year are put into practice. This offers the student’s contagious enthusiasm grown during the year to be channelled practically into the community.
